Part 3: Expert Tips

These expert tricks will teach you how to run that final mile and earn every word on every level of Word Galaxies. If you're the type of obsessive Word galaxies player who considers the level a failure if you haven't found every single word, then this article is for you. These tricks take practice, but they do pay off. Be patient, and practice, practice, practice.

Expert Tip #1: Memorize those tough 3-letter words.

At some point in all of our lives, we've had to just buckle down memorize definitions, historical dates, authors, and first ladies' pets' favorite food. Becoming a Word Galaxies expert is no different. Here's a list of 3-letter words that you probably don't use in everyday conversation, but which do appear frequently in Word Galaxies:

ort, auk, roc, hie, ken, cur, tun, yew, fey, ted, poi, gar

Do whatever it takes to commit these words to memory -- make flash cards, write them on your bathroom mirror, or shave them into your cat's belly. Knowing the definitions will help you memorize the words, so you may need to consult your favorite dictionary. We know the definitions already, but we're not tellin'! (The act of looking up the words yourself will help you memorize the words.)

Expert Tip #2 Find the long words first.

Yes, yes, we know that we told you to tackle the shortest words first in Part 1: Mastering the Basics. However, you've graduated from the basic training and you need to earn those big scores like the pros. You qualify just about every level, so the risk of losing the game is minimized.

If you're going to get 25 out of 30 words in a round, which 25 words should you focus on to maximize your score? The long words earn more points, so find those first. Start with the longest and work your way down. Even if you don't see the longest word immediately, give it a few seconds. It's worth it.
